Scenic Journey Inclusions
Swiss Scenic Journeys are a great way to experience the best of the Swiss Alps and some of Switzerland’s most picturesque cities. These journeys offer the convenience of purchasing a package with the freedom of independent travel. There are no escorts or tour guides to hurry you along, so you can explore at your own pace, secure in the knowledge that your accommodation is booked and your rail tickets arranged. Journeys can be upgraded, additional days and can be taken in reverse.

This journey includes:
• Swiss Card Rail Adventure (5 transfers) in 1st class from/to Swiss border or airport
• Seat reservations: Wilhelm Tell Express, Bernina Express and Glacier Express
• Lunch on board of the Wilhelm Tell Express (daily special) and a souvenir
• 1 night in Lucerne including breakfast
• 2 nights in Lugano including breakfast
• 2 nights in St. Moritz including breakfast
• 2 nights in Zermatt including breakfast
• Voucher 20% reduction for entry to Swissminiatur in Melide
• Any additional tickets for optional excursions to travel by rail, boat, postal coaches and cable cars can be purchased at 25–50% off the regular fares

Itinerary
The tour operates from 1 May – 25 October:

Day 1:
Arrival in Lucerne by train 1st class from the Swiss border or airport.

Day 2:
Board the historic Wilhelm Tell paddle steamer for the cruise to Flüelen. A meal is served on board in the first class restaurant. From Flüelen you continue your journey through the famous Gotthard tunnel to Bellinzona in panorama cars 1st class. Change trains and continue your joruney to Lugano.
Overnight in Lugano.

Day 3:
Time at leisure in Lugano. Enjoy the mediterranean atmosphere in the southern part of Switzerland. Stroll along the lakeside promenade or go up to Monte Bre or San Salvatore.

Day 4:
Departure by the famous Bernina Express (coach) to Tirano (Italy). From there by train over the Mount Bernina to St. Moritz. This exciting trip takes you through three cultures from palm trees across the regions of eternal snow to the valley of the young Rhine.
Overnight in St. Moritz.

Day 5:
Day off for excursions.
Overnight in St. Moritz.

Day 6:
Today you board the Glacier Express which is one of the greatest train journeys in the world. You travel from St.Moritz to Zermatt. A 7½ hour railway journey across 291 bridges, through 91 tunnels and across the Oberalp Pass at 2’033 metres in altitude. Travel in comfort through the unspoilt natural beauty of a landscape rich in ancient, fragrant mountain forests, peaceful Alpine meadows, rushing mountain streams and mountain valleys, soaked in tradition and centuries old culture. (Optional lunch – if required, please indicate on the booking request).
Overnight in Zermatt.

Day 7:
Full day at leisure in Zermatt.
Overnight in Zermatt.

Day 8:
Departure to Swiss border or airport or continue your stay and discover more of Switzerland at your own pace.

Journeys can also be made in the opposite direction.

It is possible to request a hotel, however this cannot be guaranteed.

Child Rules
Child up to 5 inclusive: free of charge in the hotels
Child up to 5 inclusive: sharing room with 2 paying adults, breakfast for child paid locally.
Child up to 5 inclusive: sharing room with 1 paying adult, the adult pays single supplement and breakfast for child paid locally.

Children from 6 up to 15 inclusive, accompanied by at least on parent, travel free on the Swiss Travel System network with the Swiss Family card (Please request at time of booking). A child (6-15yrs) requiring sole use of a room is considered as an adult and will be required to pay full supplement.

Cancellations and Modifications
Cancellation and modification fees will apply, the amount will be confirmed when changes required.
As soon as the booking is confirmed, cancellations and modifications will apply.
It is possible to modify a booking up to 2 business days before 1st hotel night.
Administration fees will apply to all cancellations.
If a client decides in Switzerland not to use the package, the below rules also apply.
Partial refunds of hotel nights and/or train days are not possible.

Modification fees:
Fees will apply to any change such as travel dates, hotels, additional nights, upgrades, downgrades made on existing bookings.
0% if cancellation is done up to 30 days before 1st hotel night
15% if cancellation is done between 29 and 6 days before 1st hotel night
30% if cancellation is done between 5 and 2 days before 1st hotel night
100% if cancellation is done 1 day or less before 1st hotel night
