Open bunks in a compartment, which accommodate 4 passengers. Couchettes have a pillow, sheet and blanket. The compartments can be either single sex or occupied but a group of 4 passengers travelling together. Restroom facilities are located at the end of each car

Preferente Class: the layout is 2+1 with a total of 26 seats (20 in carriages with Super Reclining Seats).

VIP Lounge:
Gran and Preferente Class passengers have the Club lounge in Madrid's Chamartin station.
For those departing from Lisbon, the CP Lounge is also avaiable to ran and Preferente Class passengers. This lounge is open from 5.45am to 10.45pm (week days) and 6.45am to 10.45pm (Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays). The lounge features TV, internet, arrival and departure information and is a pleasant place to relax and enjoy a drink.

On-board Dining:
On board restaurant: the restaurant service offers a varied menu.
Breakfast is included in the price of the ticket for Gran Class and Preferente travellers.
The bar-cafeteria car offers a wide range of drinks, sandwiches and meals that are freshly prepared.
The restaurant and the cafeteria are open in the evening until 2am and in the morning from 6am.

Fares
Services can only be booked up to 90 days in advance.
Reservations are mandatory.

Fares types:
Adult: No conditions
Child: Valid for children aged 4-11yrs
Passholder: fares are available.

Passholder fares:
• 7PM rule applies to pass holders. (refer below for details)
• Pass needs to be validated prior to boarding the train.
• Flexi pass holders need to use a travel day on their Flexi pass.
• The class of service of the ticket must match the class of service on the rail pass.
• Passholder fares applicable to Eurail Global, Eurail Portugal-Spain Pass and Eurail Select Pass including Spain and Portugal.

7PM Bonus rule:
You could travel between 7pm and midnight for FREE. If you board a direct overnight train after 7pm (1900) then you only need to write the next day’s date in the calendar box on your pass, provided it falls within the validity of the pass.

Exchange/Refund
Exchange and refund policies vary depending on the type of fare purchased.
Exchanges, to exchange a ticket, client must buy a new ticket and then send the unused stamped ticket back to the issuing office for a refund.
Refunds, when authorized, can only be performed in the issuing country up to 60 days after the train departure date.
Special cancellation fees apply to some fares.
Refund administrative fees apply
Lost or stolen tickets are neither refundable nor replaceable.
Reservations are not refundable.

Check-in Procedures
There are no check-in or customs procedures prior to boarding however for night trains we strongly recommend to arrive in advance to find the right coach and accommodation booked.
