The Glacier Express is the most “famous” scenic train in Switzerland, operating from Zermatt via Chur and Davos to St Moritz. This journey passes through 91 tunnels and crosses 291 bridges and the 2033 metre high Oberalp Pass. This comfortable train will take you through unspoiled nature of the Alpine heartland of the Swiss Alps.

Onboard Services
The Glacier Express’ new interiors are elegant and the large picture windows ensure a stunning view from every angle. There is also improved information system, which offers commentary in six languages.
There are 4 levels for onboard seating:
• Panoramic First class
• Panoramic Second class
• Conventional First class
• Conventional Second class
Panoramic First Class:
• Oversized windows which extend into the roof cove provide all-round panoramic views
• 36 seats (12x3 seat compartments, central aisle carriage) with table
• Air-conditioning
• Sealed windows
• Along the route, expert commentary highlights the most important features in German, English, French, Italian, Chinese and Japanese.
Panoramic Second Class:
• Oversized windows which extend into the roof cove provide all-round panoramic views
• 48 seats (12x4 seat compartments, central aisle carriage) with table
• Air-conditioning
• Sealed windows
• Along the route, expert commentary highlights the most important features in German, English, French, Italian, Chinese and Japanese.
First Class:
• Conventional design
• 36 seats (6x4 and 6x2 seat compartments, central aisle carriage)
• Opening windows
Second Class:
• Conventional design
• 56 seats (14x4 seat compartments, central aisle carriage)

Onboard Dining:
As the journey takes a whole day, onboard dining must be planned. There are 2 dining options available:
• Dining Car (Reservation is compulsory, see below for details)
• Railbar service at your seat
Meals are served between 11am and 1.30pm and payment can be made in cash or by using one of the major credit cards.
Meal options available:
Three course meal: Comprises salad (summer) or soup (winter), meat with vegetables and side dishes, dessert or a selection of cheeses. Drinks are not included. Approx CHF41 per person.
Dish of the day: The dish of the day comprises of meat with vegetables and side dishes. Approx CHF28 per person.

Fares
Glacier Express has a supplement and it is mandatory to make seat reservations.
The supplement charge varies depending on the season and train type.
A point-to-point ticket has to be purchased to cover the journey from or to Disentis to or from Zermatt / Brig.
Eurail Pass holders are entitled to a 25% reduction on the additional tickets on the Disentis-Zermatt section.
The Glacier Express can be reserved 60 days prior to the train departure date.

Reservations are non-refundable.
