Routes and Travel Times
Expedition service departs from two stations:
• Cusco (Poroy)*
• Sacred Valley (Ollantaytambo)
Cuzco - Machu Picchu:
The journey:
Your adventure begins from the village of Poroy* just outside Cuzco. The train then descends from the highest point of the journey into the Sacred Valley and the foothills of the Andes. Before reaching Machu Picchu, the train travels along the Urubamba River, with awe-inspiring views of the dramatic canyon.
*Note: Poroy Station is a 20 minute taxi ride from Cuzco. Transfers are not included.

Sacred Valley - Machu Picchu:
The journey:
Departing from Ollantaytambo, in the heart of the magnificent Sacred Valley, the Expedition travels to and from the legendary ancient citadel in Machu Picchu. The service, which has been in operation since 1928 and is the ideal way to view the Sacred Valley and the most spectacular archaeological ruins in South America, Machu Picchu.
