El Expreso de La Robla gives you a chance to travel by a period train, with all of today's comforts at a very reasonable price.
This train combines classic wagons with modern equipment, featuring three lounge-wagons and four berth wagons, all with bathroom and air-conditioning. A train was designed for the enjoyment and pleasure of travelling, with large picure windows to take in the beautiful landscapes. Overnight the train is stabled at railway stations in order to allow the passengers to get off and on whenever they want and to enjoy a refreshing sleep.
The train is always followed by a coach that will take guests to places where it is not possible to for train to reach. The multilingual guides ensure guests discover hidden places along the route.
Every morning breakfast is served on board while the train travels through the spectacular landscapes of the North of Spain. Lunch and dinner will be served in typical local restaurants.
Accommodation
The Expreso de La Robla has four sleepers with seven compartments each. The compartments are modern and fresh design which will ensure guests enjoy a good night’s sleep. So that passengers may sleep comfortably, the train will stop at the stations for the night. The train will wait for those who wish to enjoy the nightlife in each town.

The inside of the train is fully connected, so that passengers may freely move through it.
Dining
Breakfast is a self-serve fare on board, while lunch and dinner are at selected local restaurants. All menus include a carefully selected wine list that blend harmoniously with the lunch and dinner options. Coffee and liqueurs are also included.
The restaurants visited along the route not only select the highest quality raw ingredients and have them prepared by the greatest professionals; they are also the real opportunity to sample the regional dishes. Many of the most demanding gourmets and chefs consider these northern principalities of Spain as offering the best cuisine of all the Spanish regions. Local cheese, sausages, meat, seafood and fresh produce are of international renown.

Lounge Cars
The common areas of El Expreso de La Robla are made up of three comfortable lounge carriages with a permanent bar service, equipped with large windows, so that guests may enjoy the landscape which slowly comes into view, as well as playing board games with other passengers.
Each morning a free buffet breakfast is served in these lounges.
Guests will have at their disposal the daily press, magazines, a library, video collection and TV. The lounges are air-conditioned and have a PA system and piped music, as well as a PC for passengers’ use, and free internet connection.
These lounges are equipped to conduct conferences, chats, courses and meetings, and boast a large screen, PC connections, PA system, etc. They also have spaces designed to enjoy a quiet drink and listen to music.

Day 1: Bilbao-Espinosa de Los Monteros-Vado Cervera
Depart Bilboa for Espinosa de los Monteros, where a coach awaits for a tour to the Karstic Complex of Ojo de Guareña in Sotoscueva. This is the largest cave collection on the Iberian Peninsula and among the ten largest in the whole world. Return to the train to continue onto Cervera de Pisuerga. Dinner will be at the Parador of Fuentes Carrionas and the train will be stationed overnight at Vado-Cervera.

Day 2: Vado Cervera-Matallana-León-San Feliz
Enjoy breakfast on board as the train travels to Matallana. Here you board the coach to tour the Caves of Valporquero, famous worldwide for its stalactites, stalagmites and fantastic shapes. In the afternoon travel by train to San Feliz and then by coach to Leon, a city founded by the Romans where art and culture keeps on flowing from every single corner. Visit to the Cathedral, San Isidoro, Old Quarters and San Marcos. Enjoy a wonderful dinner in Leon’s famous wine caves of Prieto Picudo, before returning to the train at San Feliz railway station.

Day 3: San Feliz-Guardo-Carrión de Los Condes-Frómista-Mataporquera-Espinosa de Los Monteros
While having breakfast on board; the train arrives at Guardo where the coach is waiting to tour the Romanesque Art of Palencia: Carrion de los Condes, Fromista, Villalcazar de Sirga. A stop for lunch in Fromista, is followed by stops in Mataporquera and Espinosa de los Monteros where you will have dinner and spend the night.

Day 4: Espinosa de Los Monteros-Medina del Pomar-Balmaseda-Bilbao
After breakfast, enjoy a sightseeing tour Espinosa de los Monteros and Medina de Pomar with their remarkable monuments such as the Alcazar de los Condestables and its Old Quarters. Afterwards travel to Balmaseda where you will visit its famous berets factory, Boinas La Encartada and enjoy a typical lunch. This wonderful journey concludes when the train arrives in Bilbao at around 6.00pm.

Check-In Procedure:
The train leaves the Bilbao FEVE train station at 15:45 pm and Passengers may check in on-board between 1.30pm and 3.30pm. Once on the train, you can settle into your accommodation and you will be shown around the lounge areas.

A deposit of 40% is required upon confirmation of booking.
Balance is required no later than 30 days prior to departure.
Cancellations made between 30 and 15 days prior to departure: 25% of total paid.
Cancellations made between 14 and 5 days prior to departure: 50% of total paid.
Cancellations made between 4 and 1 days prior to departure: 80% of total paid.
Cancellations made within 24 hours of departure: wholly non-refundable.
No cancellation fee will be charged if passengers change the dates, as long as they do so at least 30 days prior to departure date and make the journey within 1 year. If, after changing the reservation, they then cancel the trip, the fee will be 100%.
If date of journey change is less than 30 days before departure date then a fee of 15% applies.
